Dear NCE Family,

Welcome back! Your NCE PTA has been hard at work planning for the 2012-2013

school year. We need YOU, the parents, to make this happen or we cannot offer the

programs that serve to enhance your child’s experience at NCE. It is the extras

provided by the PTA that make your child’s educational experience truly exceptional.

What did NCE PTA provide for your child and their teachers in 2011-12?

ü $150 to each teacher (including the Librarian) for educational support items

ü Two classroom parties

ü Junior Achievement for each class

ü SPICE - Student Parent Interactive Curriculum Enrichment is a hands on

educational lesson led by parents to support what students are learning in class.

Parents are in the classroom teaching their kids and it’s fun!

ü Field Trips such as Dewberry Farms, George Ranch, Houston Zoo, Museum of

Natural Science and more

ü Carnival and Auction raised $20,000 for school programs and resources

ü Library volunteer support and new books

ü Purchased 20+ computers for your child’s classroom

ü New playground equipment

ü Four Cultural Arts programs brought to our school including shows from Main

Street Theater

ü A 30^th Anniversary Celebration and new marquee

ü PTA Volunteers donated 7,800 hours of their time!!

This is not an extensive list by any means but hopefully it shows you how important your

involvement in the PTA is. Your support of the PTA through membership and

volunteering are critical for the PTA to continue to offer these things that

serve to enhance your child’s experience at NCE.

JOIN the PTA by completing the PTA Membership Form found in this packet. Our

goal is for every student in the school to be represented by a PTA member. For only $8,

PTA Members have access to discounts on insurance, mobile phones, books and more.

Also, you will receive a school directory which provides important student and staff

contact information.

A Volunteer Meet and Greet is scheduled for Wednesday, September 12,

2012, at 9:00 AM in the Cafeteria. This is open to everyone, whether you

are new or have been volunteering for years. Join us!
