The committee descriptions, listed below, are just some of the many PTA committees you can be involved in. Assist with vision & hearing screening

Boosterthon - Fall Fundraiser (Lacey Stewart) email@example.com
This will be our 2017 Fall fundraiser. We will need help tallying laps and passing out water on the day of FUN RUN and collecting donations after FUN RUN. (Sept-Oct-Nov)
Carnival – Spring Fundraiser (Cherie Sheffer and Amber Garansuay) firstname.lastname@example.org This is the most exciting event of the year for our students. We need a lot of help to make this a successful fundraiser for our school. Time commitment varies for several months leading up to the event (Spring).

Headed up by our coaches, the kids get a ½ day of fun and games. The students and typically divided by grade with K-2 together and 3-5 together. Volunteers donate slices of watermelon for snacks and water. We also assist the coaches in operating each of the stations.
Homeroom parent representative (Cherie Sheffer) email@example.com Yearlong. Assist homeroom teacher with any workroom needs, facilitate two classroom parties, pass on information and encourage auction/carnival participation.
Joust Read (Mallory Basset) firstname.lastname@example.org Year long. The Joust program is designed to encourage students to read and increase comprehension. Help keep track of student’s reading progress, process rewards, etc. (1 hr/week)

Regular Library Volunteer - Come to the library and help students find books, check out books, and shelve the books that are turned in. You can sign up to do as many times a month as you want to.
Book Fair Help - Do you want to help with book fair, but don’t want to be a library volunteer the rest of the year? Then this position is perfect for you. You can help decorate, set up the book fair, be on hand to help kids find books, break down the book fair and run the cash register.
Home Helper - Help us get materials ready. This would be mostly cutting out bookmarks and manipulatives for Joust Read and lessons; may also ask for some typing help now and then. Everything can be done from home. Everything you need will be sent home with your child.

S.P.I.C.E (Student Parent Interactive Curriculum Enrichment) (Sarah Pearson) firstname.lastname@example.org Each grade has one to two events/year ranging from Rodeo Day in KG to Metric Olympics in 3rd Grade. Volunteers are needed to be grade level coordinators and many volunteers are needed to help on the day of the events. Good opportunity to get into the classroom. (One day)

Assist K-2 classroom teacher in facilitating weekly ½ hour class visits to the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Lab. Great way to get to know students and teachers! (½ Hour/week, year-long)
Teacher appreciation (Danielle Green & Kathy Gohlke) firstname.lastname@example.org Help show our teachers and staff how much we appreciate them. Various duties include decorating, gathering donated gifts, catering and serving during teacher luncheon before school starts and teacher appreciation week in May. Great way to get to know NCE teachers and staff too!
Teacher treats (Kristen Vacek & Abby Walker) email@example.com Provide treats for teachers 4 times a year. Depending on the number of volunteers, you will be asked to provide a salty or sweet treat once or twice during the school year. (usually, on a Thursday or Friday by 8:30am)
